North Wall
The North Wall is one of the largest climbing gyms in Russia, located in St. Petersburg. The project combines unique technical solutions and routes of varying degrees of complexity. We were faced with the task of conducting research and developing the identity for this project. It was important to take into account the scale of the development of the project and its further growth, as well as make guidline for all media being developed.
The project began with a research. We conducted an in-depth interview with the client and the project team, analyzed the project, competitors and the target audience, made a visual brief. As a result, we found out that the project was made for the fanatics of their hobby, for people who have a certain rhythm and lifestyle. The climbing wall was created for climbers, without noise and unnecessary events.
The new identity is based on an image of the interior architectural features of the “Alpine wall” and the combination of the image of the northern wall as icy, high and multifaceted. Additionally, the idea of combining the image with the Latin letter N (North) is read.
As a basis for the identity system, an element of the brand name is used — a polygon of three vertices. The main idea of the element is that it can be modified in any way.
In the process, we developed a guide for using the logo and identity in general.
The development of style and the system of elements of the "constellation".
As part of the identity, various style carriers have been developed. Among them are souvenir products, posters, business documents.
